Tourism in southeastern Europe is expected to boom as interest in the destination has reached an unprecedented level.

The company will organize the annual trade market on March 24, which will connect tourism suppliers from all Balkan countries; Greece, Moldova, Romania, Montenegro, Serbia, Croatia, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania.
The NDE co-founder said the Balkans are one of the last exotic places in Europe and more people would like to visit the region because of its cultural diversity, natural beauty, beaches and skiing.
Furthermore, the region offers excellent value for money, especially for non-EU countries, with Albania being one of the most promising destinations. Interest in this country has particularly increased among Britons, as there are more than eight flights per day to Albania from the UK.
Albania is likely to have a large tourism industry, which hopefully can be as successful as that of neighboring Greece. Previously, Greece and Albania signed a cooperation agreement strengthen their relations, particularly in the field of tourism. Both countries are committed to promoting their destinations and increasing the number of inbound tourists.
This decision follows the meeting between the Albanian Minister of Tourism and Environment, Mirela Kumbaro, and the President of the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO), Angela Gerekou, who stressed the importance of preserving the identity of the two countries in the tourism industry.
Data from Greek travel pages shows that the number of Albanian tourists in Greece increased by 16.2 percent in 2018, reaching a total of 1,121,472, while the number of Albanian tourists increased at the same time by 19 percent in 2018, reaching a total of 1,121,472.986,000 visitors compared to 828,700 recorded in 2017.
While Albania had a record year in 2022 with many hotel groups considering investing there, Croatia saw record numbers during the summer season – July and August to be precise.
