A pseudo-state promoting tourism for the Balkan states, KNEWS

In the field of foreign tourism promotion and marketing, the pseudo-state actively participated in the First Istanbul Balkan Tourism Exchange Fair (IBTB Istanbul) from September 20 to 22.

As reported by the Turkish Cypriot press, the event, which was attended by “Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment” Fikri Ataoglu, started yesterday at the International Congress and Conference Center. Lutfi Kirdar exhibitions. This three-day exhibition is exclusively accessible to tourism professionals and visitors.

The overarching objective of the exhibition is to strengthen relations between Turkey and the Balkans while providing a common platform for tourism professionals from neighboring countries in the region.

In his speech at the exhibition, Ataoglu pointed out that the Balkan countries have a large population of 60 million people. He highlighted the central role of the exhibition in attracting a larger share of this population and expressed high expectations for a strong tourist attraction from this market, stimulated by the upcoming promotional campaigns.

Mr. Ataoglu argued that European tourists, after Turkish visitors, are the most frequent visitors to the occupied areas. He also highlighted the expanded scope of their promotional and marketing activities aimed at reaching a wider audience in the Balkan countries.

Furthermore, he mentioned that Turkish Airlines would play an important role in these promotional efforts, building on its past contributions. The ultimate goal is to welcome tourism operators from the Balkan countries, served by Turkish Airlines, to the occupied areas and introduce them to “Northern Cyprus” in the near future.
