Air Serbia launches codeshare flights in Canada

Air Serbia has expanded its codeshare partnership with Turkish Airlines by placing its identification code and flight numbers on the latter’s services between Istanbul and Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver from today. Tickets are available for purchase on the Air Serbia website. Previously, EX-YU Aviation News reported exclusively in June that the Serbian carrier had obtained codeshare permits from the Canadian Transportation Agency. Commenting on this development, Ivana Miklja Mučalov, Head of International Affairs and Alliances of Air Serbia, said: “We continue to develop our long-standing partnership with Turkish Airlines. With this new expansion of the codeshare agreement, passengers will have the opportunity to travel via Istanbul to three major Canadian cities. The service to Canada is of great importance to the large diaspora in the greater Balkan region, as well as to anyone wishing to visit Canada for business or tourism.” Air Serbia is now code sharing on 21 routes operated by Turkish Airlines. The Serbian carrier is consider introducing non-stop services in Toronto as the third destination in North America.
