Albania to create agency to promote startups and innovation

May 26 (VoirNews) – The Albanian Parliament adopted a law aimed at facilitating the operation of startups in Albania by creating a dedicated government agency, Minister for Entrepreneurship Protection Edona Bilali said on Thursday in a video on the social networks.

“A special agency placed under the aegis of the minister will bring dynamic energy to support startup projects by significantly reducing the time for exchanging information, processing applicant documents and ensuring full transparency in decision-making in terms of public financing,” Bilali said.

The law includes a provision allowing digital nomads to be exempt from paying taxes during their first year in Albania, in the hope that they can bring seasonal workers with them.

Albania hosts 100 digital nomads, Bilali said earlier.
