Azerbaijan and Serbia discuss existing cooperation and strengthening strategic partnership (PHOTOS)

An extensive meeting took place between Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Minister Ivitsa Dacic with the participation of delegations.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the existing cooperation between the countries, as well as the objectives and directions for the further strengthening of the strategic partnership. As part of the relations based on mutual trust and respect between the two countries, their support for sovereignty and territorial integrity was once again highlighted.

The parties stressed the importance of high-level mutual visits, inter-parliamentary relations, beneficial interaction within the framework of international organizations and economic and cultural cooperation, including cooperation in the fields of energy, high technologies, transport, humanitarian work, education, tourism and alternative energies. , pharmaceutical and other fields. It was stated that it is important to create the twinning experience of the city of Shusha in Azerbaijan and the city of Novy Bazar in Serbia among other Azerbaijani cities.

Regarding economic relations between the two countries, it was emphasized the importance of intensifying joint efforts of the competent authorities of Azerbaijan and Serbia to identify potential areas of cooperation and implement projects of common interest .

During the meeting, the need to continue bilateral consultations to develop bilateral cooperation within the framework of the Southern Gas Corridor and explore the possibilities of transporting natural gas to Serbia and the Balkan region through the TAP connecting gas pipelines was noted. underlined.

During the meeting, companies and investors from Serbia were invited to participate in large-scale reconstruction works carried out in the Alat free economic zone, as well as in the liberated economic regions of Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur in Azerbaijan, as well as exploring possible areas of investment in these regions.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov gave detailed information to his counterpart on the peace process after the 44-day Patriotic War and Azerbaijan’s victory, as well as restoration and reconstruction works in the region. At the same time, the factors determining round-the-clock anti-terrorism measures and the situation in the region after the complete restoration of Azerbaijani sovereignty were attracted.

Minister Ivitsa Dacic emphasized that Serbia attaches particular importance to strategic cooperation with Azerbaijan and the importance of mutual support of the two countries in matters of sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The meeting also discussed other issues of mutual interest.

During the meeting, an agreement signing ceremony was also held between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Serbia.

Later, at the press conference, the ministers made statements on the results of the meetings.

After the meetings related to the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of national leader Heydar Aliyev, with the participation of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Goran Aleksic, sycamore trees were planted in the park of the friendship of Belgrade. . Later, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs visited the national leader’s monument in “Tachmaydan” park and laid a wreath.
