Bosnia and Herzegovina Security Minister meets with Egyptian Interior Minister

Egyptian Security Minister Nenad Nešić is on an official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt, where he met today with Egyptian Interior Minister Mahmoud Tawfik.

Given the positive relations between the people of the two countries, hope was expressed that this meeting would open a chapter of more intense and dynamic diplomatic, security and economic cooperation.

Minister Nešić emphasized that Bosnia and Herzegovina wishes to maintain and develop good relations with friendly Egypt. Considering the close ties and history of our peoples, Bosnia and Herzegovina can be a key factor for Egypt’s cooperation with all countries in the Balkan region.

“On both sides, there are real economic bases and capabilities for the development of economic relations. The work we do, security work, is the foundation of economic development and all other development of society, and I am sure that with today’s meeting we are sending a positive impulse to the economies of both country so that they can work at the highest level. in the economic sphere are intensifying,” Nešić said, telling Egyptian businessmen and investors that they and their capital are safe and are welcome for trade and investments in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Nešić provided full support to Egypt in the fight against terrorism, hoping for further progress in this area, as this will have a favorable effect on the security situation in the region, in Europe and therefore in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He also expressed gratitude to Egypt for its assistance in the evacuation of citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina from the Gaza Strip.

“I hope that we will soon see an easing of tensions and an end to the suffering. Egypt is a country whose voice must be heard more forcefully on this subject, keeping in mind relations with Israel and at the same time without diminishing the rights of the Palestinian people,” said Nešić, affirming positively the Egypt’s position regarding the conflict in Ukraine while insisting on peace and not contributing to the escalation of global hostilities.

In the field of security and internal affairs, the need to amend and improve the existing agreement on cooperation in the field of crime suppression and to establish cooperation between the agencies of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Egypt’s law enforcement efforts in the area of ​​detecting financial crime, money laundering and exchanging information on terrorist and extremist threats were highlighted.

Nešić also recalled the initiative of Bosnia and Herzegovina to sign the agreement on the readmission of citizens and foreigners and opened the possibility of establishing cooperation in the field of protection and rescue, Klix.ba reports.
