GIZ is looking for a consultant to help the Western Balkans take advantage of new job opportunities during the energy transition. The development agency has launched a call for expressions of interest.
The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH said it would select a service provider, a legal entity registered in the Western Balkans, for the purposes of the project “Green Agenda – Decarbonization of the electricity sector in the Western Balkans”: Understanding labor markets and skills needs in the energy sector and improving a professional market for more “green jobs” in the Western Balkans.
The objective of the mission is to provide various analytical tasks and practical concepts to technical and vocational education and training (TVET) organizations in the region focusing on employment opportunities throughout the energy transition renewable.

According to the development agency, green jobs are essential to the Western Balkans’ energy transition, promoting sustainable development and reducing dependence on fossil fuels.
New profiles of technicians and specialists will not only diversify the energy sector, but also create new job opportunities for young people and experienced professionals, thereby promoting economic growth in the region, GIZ said.
By investing in human capital for more green jobs, the region can better align with the policies of the European Green Deal and train professionals to work on electricity market integration with the European Union.
Legal entities registered in a Western Balkan country are eligible.
To be eligible, the applicant must be a legal entity registered in a Western Balkan country. The minimum average annual net turnover over the last three financial years is BAM 176,024.70 or EUR 90,000.
Eligible consultants have at least five employees, GIZ said.
The reference list must include at least two socio-economic research projects in the employment sector, and at least two related to the objective of the call in the European region in the last three years.
The technical assessment is based only on reference projects with a minimum commission value of 10,000 euros or 19,558.30 BAM, GIZ said.

The documentation must be sent to the GIZ office by December 12 by mail to Zmaja od Bosne 7-7a, 71000 Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, procedure number 83454057.
The selected companies will be contacted and invited to participate in the procedure after evaluation of the letters of interest received, GIZ said.
