IFC appoints new regional director for Western Balkans

August 24 (VoirNews) – The International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector branch of the World Bank, announced Thursday that it had named Nicolas Marquier its new regional director for the Western Balkans.

Marquier replaces Ary Naïm, who since August 2020 covered the countries of the Western Balkans and member countries of the European Union (EU), including Poland, Romania, Bulgaria and Croatia, the IFC said in a press release.

IFC added that it has now established two distinct sub-regions within its Europe region. Thus, Marquier, based in Belgrade in Serbia, will supervise the Western Balkans, and Naïm will take care of the EU member countries.

Marquier was previously country manager for Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei.
