Katarina began her career in journalism in 1999 and has since covered politics, economics, human rights, social and health issues, culture, new technologies and the environment. She has experience in radio, television, print and online journalism. She has worked with the Republika Srpska news agency SRNA since 2002.

Katarina holds a bachelor’s degree in Serbian language, literature and general linguistics from the Faculty of Philology of the University of Belgrade.

She has completed numerous training courses related to different types of journalism provided by the BBC, Thomson Reuters, Deutsche Welle, National Press Foundation, RNTC Hilversum Netherland, Media Plan Institute Sarajevo, Cardiff University and Balkan Investigative Reporting Network, including the BIRN Summer School for Investigative journalism in 2015. She is also a BIRN member of the Balkan Fellowship for Journalistic Excellence since 2013.

In 2014, Katarina received the annual UNICEF Media Award for her special journalistic contribution to the promotion and protection of children’s rights in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
