Lagardère signs a duty free agreement in Albania with the Kastrati group

The new duty free agreement with Albania is signed LR: French President Emmanuel Macron, Shefqet Kastrati, Catherine Guyomard, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama

Lagardère Travel Retail has signed an agreement with Albanian group Kastrati Group to develop duty-free activities at Tirana airport and popular tourist sites in the country.

This agreement comes as French President Emmanuel Macron met his Albanian counterpart, Prime Minister Edi Rama.

It was the first visit by the French head of state since 1912, with several sectors taking advantage of the opportunity to strengthen their relations.

Shefqet Kastrati, President of the Kastrati Group and Catherine Guyomard, Member of the Executive Committee of Lagardère Travel Retail, officially signed the documents.

Formalized at Tirana’s Mother Teresa International Airport on October 17, the agreement comes as Albania’s tourism industry is booming.

As part of this agreement, Lagardère will develop a range of products and services for Albania, taking into account the local culture.

Kastrati Group, founded in 1991, is an active distributor in Albania and the Balkan region as a leader in distribution activities.

It employs 4,000 people across its activities which cover investments in infrastructure and management of airports and motorway concessions in Tirana and Kukes.

Other activities include retail and wholesale of hydrocarbon products, insurance, construction and real estate development, tourism and hospitality, and automobile distribution.

Last month, Lagardère expanded its presence in West Africa by signing of an agreement with the Public Company of Airports of Benin to operate the main concession of Cotonou international airport.
