Mario Draghi to strategize EU’s ‘whatever it takes’ competition engagement

The European Union must do ‘whatever it takes’ to maintain its competitive edge as it pushes industry towards a green transition, and has recruited the Italian Mario Draghi to help set the bloc’s strategy, the head of the EU’s executive branch said.

“It’s time to make doing business easier in Europe” Ursula von der Leyen, head of the European Commission, said on Wednesday during the plenary session of the European Parliament. “It is an economic and national security imperative to preserve the European advantage on critical and emerging technologies.”
