State of the European Union focuses on Russia’s expansion and war in Ukraine

President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen She is expected to highlight on Wednesday how Russia’s war in Ukraine has fundamentally changed the European Union when she delivers her State of the Union address.

Von der Leyen said EU Ambassadors said earlier this month that the bloc needed to expand its borders to recognize new geopolitical realities, according to sources close to the negotiations.
