More than 800 cyclists from 22 countries will line up today in Velingrad for the start of the Bulgarian Stage of the Tour de France. There are two routes: one is 102 km and the other is 57 km.

The tour starts in the city center and passes through picturesque villages of the Rhodope Mountains, including Ablanitsa, Tsvetino, Gorna Dabeva, Vranantsi.

It is the second biggest race in the Balkans under the auspices of the Tour de France. The other Balkan countries where the race takes place are Greece and Romania.

The spirit of the Tour de France will also be recreated through a sports campus in Velingrad, where during the weekend cycling enthusiasts can explore the exhibitions of the Tour de France Museum and have your photo taken with the race’s iconic talisman – Didi Senft (Didi the Devil).
