‘Wednesday’ Gets Key Update Ahead of Netflix Release

With the SAG-AFTRA agreement nearing completion, suspended projects are resuming. Such is Wednesday. The hit Netflix series has moved production to Ireland for season 2.

With production on the next season set to begin in April, the first season of the hit series was filmed in Romania, according to Deadline.

However, for the current season, the Balkan country was excluded due to logistical issues as it began to appear during the filming of the first season.

Additionally, the coming-of-age horror comedy proved a boon for the European country, leading to a tourism boom.

In the meantime, Wednesday became one of the most popular series in Netflix history, but surprisingly, its lead star initially dropped out of the series.

In a conversation with The Sunday Times, Jenna Ortega said, “I got the email, I forwarded it,” and added, “I’ve done so much television in my life, everything I ever wanted to do, it “It’s cinema.”

She continued, “The only reason I came back is because Tim (Burton, director and executive producer of Wednesday) is such a legend, and we happened to get along really well. But even then, I said, ‘Ah, no… I think I’m fine, several (more) times.’
